Living The Dream (literally)
As a child, I had a couple of dream jobs in mind. The family favourite…to be a tiger trainer at the zoo. I was OBSESSED. I made everyone call me Taia Tiger, I signed my name with a paw print and as a birthday present one year, my cousin adopted a tiger under my name. I LOVED them!
Another thing I was set on was that I wanted to travel for work. Travel around Adelaide, Australia and eventually the world. I seem to have achieved this dream well before any sort of tiger training takes place, so I’ll stick with it for now. I’m so grateful for the jobs that have fallen into my hands, and allow me to travel around the country.
Travelling with a work group is different than any sort of solo or travel with friends, you’re all there for the same purpose, you all know you need to work the same hours, and you’re all keen to go for a few drinks after the day is done. You get more time to get to know your colleagues and enjoy the time together before coming home back to your normal lives. The days are long but fun, I’ve never been on a work trip I regretted going on.
2022 is the most I’ve traveled for work. This year I got to go to Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, Brisbane again, a 2 week tour round regional South Australia (Mt Gambier, Bordertown, Renmark, Port Pirie, Port Augusta & Whyalla) & Melbourne again.
I wanted to collate some photos and videos I’ve taken throughout the years. I have a terrible memory so I love creating videos like these to look back on in the future. Enjoy!
