Moments

Film photos are my favourite way of capturing moments and memories (when I remember to bring my camera…). I’ve always loved using little 35mm cameras for different projects, or just day to day. The excitement of getting back 5 rolls you forgot about from the last 6 months compares to nothing else… which is the experience I had just last week. The oldest roll developed was from Halloween 2020, with the newest being earlier this month on a work trip to Darwin. There’s some snaps of another work trip to Tasmania in there, and the Christmas/New Year holidays spent with people I love.

There’s something so special about the way film is captured that’s different than just a quick snap on your phone. The mystery of not being able to see the photos until they are processed and developed. There’s a certain aesthetic that, no matter how much time you spend on photoshop, can’t be re-created. The feeling of getting the prints back, and spending time looking at each one remembering that exact moment in time is something that will never lose its novelty.

So enjoy. My favourite pics from the last 6 months, across 5 rolls of film.
